How can I stop overthinking and take action more quickly? - 1

I am extremely ambitious and hard working but I waste a lot of time overthinking what I plan to do before actually doing it. I am talking about projects but also daily things. I am having a hard time passing from thinking to doing. I have no spontaneity. It frustrates me.
Answer:

Stop the planning altogether.

Plans are very good to have, but all you should need is a general plan of action. Knowing exactly how you will go about it will never result in much because things are constantly shifting and changing. By the time you have one plan down, the circumstances will already be completely different!

Right now the planning is limiting you. You are too far over on that side and you need to get back to a center where you plan efficiently and execute the plans you do have. To get there you need to see the other side first!

The only plan we really need is based off of the ultimate plan. You have a Life Goal. This Life Goal is achievable in x years. To achieve it in those x years you need to do something specific this year. This is your yearly goal, which you then look at in terms of what you need to accomplish this month to get there. And then you look at what you need to do this week to get to your monthly goal. Finally, you think about the 3 things that you can do today that will get you the closest to your weekly goal.

That means, at the beginning of the week, month and year you need to set a goal. Other than that you only need to focus on 3 things. How you will achieve it is irrelevant. That will come. But not if you plan.

Change your Mindset to achieve this. Right now you still believe you are being productive when you plan. That is not the case.

Think of planning as not doing anything.

Keep this in the back of your mind and you will have more incentive to start. A few other tips that really help me start on my work are:

Knowing the Point of all the Planning. Why are you even planning that much? What is the goal? Why do you even need to work?

Become aware of the point to it all and you will have something to put before the planning. If your Point is to fulfil your dreams, or to get projects done that get you closer to your dreams, then you have no reason to waste any time! In fact, you will probably want to get started even sooner because the goals and dreams are so captivating you won’t be able to help it!

Realise that most plans fail because we cannot account for 99% of what will happen. Most of your plans are doomed to fail before they even start. That is because you haven’t accounted for over 99% of the variables and do not know what variables interact with what. Also, there is a random chance of any event occurring and if you put all that into perspective, the plan you think of only has a very small chance of going exactly the way you want it to.

You will fail sometimes. No amount of planning will prevent that. If you only focus on how to prevent failure you will never get anything done. Instead, learn to be okay with failure and you won’t need to plan that much.

Trust in your ability to figure things out. Things will happen that you didn’t account for. You will fail. And that’s fine! You have the power to figure out how to get out of that or around it when it happens. Up until now, you conquered every challenge, every unplanned event and every misfortune that befell you. So why would that not be true in for the future?

Trust in your ability to figure things out and planning will become almost obsolete.
