DO IT AFRAID!! (PART 2) Identifying your Fears

In the last series, we were able to establish that there is a usual FEAR that shows up

* when we dare to do a new thing,

* when we try to engage in a new project;

* even when we try to get into a relationship.

We must understand that this fear is natural and it only reminds us that we are humans.

Our fear in this, flogs on the fact, that the trial may really turn out fine or just a waste our time, efforts and resources.

Sometimes, we wonder if it is even better to manage our present position or achievement than daring such as which can expose us to danger.

Different kinds of fear exist; fear of failure, fear of criticism, fear of poverty and so on. But this piece of work is aimed at addressing FEAR OF FAILURE; the fear we experience when we want to launch out, start up with a new project, new feat, etc. That fear that keeps probing our new steps to success; "you know what you will suffer if you fail".

Last week, on this series, we were able to understand to an appreciable level what fear is and its effects on our lives if not properly managed.

As already mentioned last week, we will be addressing a very important issue this week; "IDENTIFYING YOUR FEARS". As a concluding point in the last post, I mentioned that the first and best potent way to deal with your fear is to identify them.

While the fear can appear more pronounced sometimes, depending on the urgency of the task, this fear can be deep seated in our soul for a long period of time, very subtle yet, very LIMITING.

If you have a dream, a desire of you have been incubating for a very long time and you are still procrastinating, check out these points and know if there is a fear that is holding you back.

1. SELF SABOTAGE; here, you deliberately undermine your abilities. You constantly remind yourself that you are just an amateur without depth of knowledge, so venturing into whatever you have in mind will definitely lead to failure. As the fear get so intense, you suffer self rejection and if it lingers, it beget unproductivity.

And who is that person that talked you into believing that you must be a guru at something before venturing into it.Get rid of self sabotage.

2. INDECISION AND SEEKING APPROVAL: It this, you tend to seek approval from almost every individual in your life even when you know you are capable to performing that task. You ask them over and over again. You resolve to seating on the fence instead of taking action as you wait for endorsement from certain individuals in your life.

3. OVERCAUTIOUS:  You make excuses and even pray all over again for those who want to be spiritual. You confess that the time is not ripe. Most time, the perfect time will not show up until we launch into what we have in mind. Don't wait for it any longer, CREATE IT.

4. IRRESPONSIBILITY AND UNNECESSARY DELEGATION; Most time our fear present itself in such a way that we find ourself delegating important tasks  to individuals who are not even in the best position to do them.

When they don't do it eventually, we capitalize on it as the reason of our inaction. This FEAR must be dealt with.

5.PROCRASTINATION: It's deliberately putting of important action for another day, people who have the habit of procrastinating compromise to difficulty, bargain with life for penny instead of demanding prosperity. They submit to this subtle fear as it confine them to a spot for decades.

No one is a guru in managing fears, and no one can say that he/she doesn't experience this fear,in fact I battle with mine daily. But our decisions to act in spite of this FEAR will spare us unnecessary heartaches.

Always remember this; there is no such feeling as courage, it is simply acting courageous when you are afraid.

The value you bring to the planet is far more important than the fears that may impede you. Look to the future. Acknowledge your fears. Move past them.

See you next week!!!

Live intentional
