Sports news: Sturridge sinks Wales

England took all three points yesterday against the  Welsh team after an intense encounter.

Gareth Bale had given the Welsh side the lead after he converted a free-kick into the net.

Deep into the second half,Roy Hodgson,the England coach adopted an all attack mindset by introducing Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy.

Vardy scored the equalizer from close range in what looks like an offside position before Sturridge sealed the win in stoppage time.

The  win puts England on top of the group, Slovakia and Wales third and fourth respectively while Russia lie in bottom of the group.

The match ended 2-1 in favour of England.

Other fixtures saw Germany held to a stalemate by Poland.

While,Ukraine lost to Northern Ireland 0-2.

Italy vs Sweden - 2pm

Czech Republic vs Croatia - 5pm

Spain vs Turkey   - 8pm.
