To my Sixteen years old self:

Dear 16SELF,

You can be completely loved. You don’t have to go into prostitution or robbery because your mother said so. Parents get angry and say lot of things especially when they feel frustrated.

Your parents also deserve to be loved and cared for, so often understand them when they try to pass out their anger moments on you. All they might need is a kind word/gesture. Sending you to live with a total stranger at a very tender age does not mean they didn’t love you. It could either be that they feel you will do better without them, so secretly finding out the hospital where you were born to go investigate and confirm your birth and originality could be mean. Without being told, you look like you papa even though you didn’t get the chance to know him because you were taken away from him so young.

Your uncle would never get the chance to molest you ever again.

You are beautifully created. Very intelligent girl that can convert her strength to becoming her best and impacting lives like you’ve always thought.

You are not alone. God has always been with you and therefore you should never try to take your life again because of the many rejections you faced from family and friends.

You’re better off doing the things you love doing that brings glory to God than being who everybody wants you to be. Everyone else including the environment told you that it is impossible to succeed as a woman but guess what Esther? It’s not true! The examples they sited to you are not true because when you check deeper, those people gave up at some point. Are you going to give up too?

You are not in this alone. You have lots of backup. The moment you keep fighting and pressing on, your backup will keep showing up and helping you.

Go and get the prize and rule your world Esther! I await YOU.
